Professor John Vinney
Vice-Chancellor

Professor John Vinney became Vice-Chancellor of BU in August 2010. A Professor in Computational Mechanics, he was previously Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University. Professor Vinney is assisted by other senior colleagues in the leadership and management of BU.

Mr David Willey
Deputy Vice-Chancellor

As Deputy Vice-Chancellor, David Willey leads much of the University’s reform of management processes and structures, essential elements in transforming the University into an innovative international institution.

He also has specific responsibility for marketing and PR, alumni relations and the University’s fund-raising activities.

Professor Tim McIntyre-Bhatty arrived at BU from the University of Wales, Newport where he has been Assistant Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Newport Business School.

Professor Matthew Bennett
Pro Vice-Chancellor

Matthew joined BU in 2002 and most recently held the position of Dean of the School of Applied Sciences. His research into Quaternary Sedimentology and Geomorphology - studying landforms and sediments of the last 2 million years - has received international recognition.

Jim Andrews
Executive Director of Organisational Development

As Executive Director of Organisational Development, Jim is responsible for developing and delivering the HR strategy that will both enable and support BU's vision. This includes supporting organisational development through providing leadership to organisational change programmes; developing staff engagement and involvement; and leading staff development across the University.
