Area(s) of Interest
ProfileMy main research areas include prosocial and pro-environmental behaviours. Some of the research questions I focus on include: Why do people act prosocial? Why do people fail to behave pro-environmental even if the circumstances are good and they do believe it is important? When do people act in accordance with their prevalent values and norms? When are interventions or environmental policies effective and acceptable for the public? How do people perceive environmental risks? I have worked with colleagues in various countries on two EU-projects aimed at sustainability and quality of life. The project I am currently involved in (i.e. BAR-Energy) aims to develop methods to identify the relevance and strengths of various barriers for energy behaviour changes among end consumers and households, and to discuss how activities from political authorities, energy producers and NGOs can overcome these barriers. I have organised and chaired symposiums at the Biennial Conference on Environmental Psychology and the International Congress of Applied Psychology. As well as the selected publications below, there are 3 other articles in press at this moment.
