Profile
I have published academic articles in financial reporting, management accounting, and corporate governance in journals of national, continental and international reputation. These include the Journal of Applied Accounting Research, European Accounting Review and Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting. I have presented papers to the British Accounting Association, The European Accounting Association, Critical Perspectives on Accounting and the American Accounting Association.
I have also examined externally at PhD level in the Accounting Discipline. I am a Chartered Banker and Chartered Secretary by profession. I also hold a Masters degree in International Accounting and Financial Management and a Doctorate in Financial Reporting from Napier University, Edinburgh. My research interests include financial reporting, corporate governance, management accounting and corporate finance. I have previously been Visiting Professor at the University of Akron and the University of Central Arkansas. I organised the British Accounting Association South West Accounting Group (BAA, SWAG) Conference in 2005 at Bournemouth University.
