Profile
I joined HSC having come from a commerce background to a post in Higher Education. During this time I have contributed to the fulfilment of a number of HSC learning and teaching plans and projects. I have also managed the development of HSC websites and have helped to produce and support a range of web resources and initiatives.
My recent work includes: - Developing and supporting E-Learning units : MSc Unit in Managing Low Back Pain , FdA (Foundation Degree) Health & Social Care (part-time) - Investigating the use of the Nintendo DS and Brain Training package as a study support tool to assist students requiring help with numeracy skills under the TechDis HEAT Scheme. - Overseas collaboration with Consortium of Institutes of Higher Education in Health and Rehabilitation In Europe (Cohehre) - Researching and evaluating various Web 2.0 products as potential learning and teaching tools and maintaining an Edublog. - Working on the creation of a virtual web-based European community (a european prototype version of the HSC Simulated Community) for a Cohehre project.
In 2005, I was awarded a BU Learning and Teaching Fellowship, and in 2006 achieved an MA in Interactive Media which has helped to inform my skills and understanding of the development, support and production of interactive materials. I am hoping to embark on a part-time PhD in 2008.
