Profile

I teach theory and practice to under- and post-graduates in the Media Academic Group and also with CEMP. I deliver units which explore the increasingly collaborative and participatory nature of interactive media.

In the field of interactive media, my specialisms are in the use of online tools in pedagogy, and I’m currently developing projects with the support of CEMP, such as Biblipedia (see Links) and developing architectures for online participation and collaboration.

My wider interests are in the therapeutic uses of media, especially participatory media and creative activities; these interests have grown out of my interest in embodiment, and the design of human-computer-interactions which recognize the physicality of users.

In addition to teaching, I work as a freelance web developer at Stowaway (see Links) and I blog about many of my interests on my MentiCulture blog (see Links).
