Biodiversity Policy![]() Bournemouth University is situated at the heart of the largest non-industrial conurbation in Europe. Nonetheless, the University recognises that urban locations offer valuable resources for wildlife and is committed to continuous improvement in the management of all of its environmental aspects and impacts, including biodiversity management. Therefore as part of Bournemouth University’s continued commitment to maintaining and enhancing our local environment, as set out in our Environmental Policy, BU has developed a Biodiversity Policy and Action Plan. The policy aims to identify the biodiversity resource of Bournemouth University to act as a baseline to best enable its conservation and for exploring enhancement opportunities. It also aims to promote the integration between the aesthetic landscape characteristics of the site, its use for recreational and academic activities, and its biodiversity value. Key actions include;
