The UK emits 1000 tonnes of CO2 every 56.1 seconds, equivalent to driving a ford focus to the moon and back 13 times or filling the AFC Bournemouth stadium to the top of the stands 26 times every minute!

BU is committed to reducing its carbon footprint by 30% between 2005/6 and 2015/16 and is already implementing projects to achieve this.

BU has been 'highly commended' in the Green Gown Awards for its energy awareness campaign. This campaign began by focusing on raising awareness levels among staff. However, we are now targeting our marketing efforts at both staff and students.

Did you know?

Lighting an office overnight wastes enough energy to heat 1000 cups of tea. Please switch off as you leave.
