Travel Plan
The University Travel Plan is an essential planning requirement for the continual development of the University at both the Talbot and Lansdowne campuses. The Plan has given the University the opportunity to better manage its limited car parking spaces. More critically, without a Plan the local Councils would not grant planning consent to the University for any future developments on either Campus. The principal objective of the Travel Plan is to reduce single car occupancy use and encourage alternative and more sustainable methods of transport. The Plan also helps us to manage demand for car parking spaces within our car parks. The University Management Team endorsed the original Travel Plan, including the principle of car parking charges, for both staff and students in June 2003. This document has now been substantially reviewed, resulting in the inception of the Bournemouth University Travel Plan 2008-12. It aims to build on the excellent progress already made through a range of new measures, as well as continued support for existing measures. > Download the Travel Plan 2008/2012 (PDF 8MB) Related Links: |
