About Our Partner Colleges

Partner College student

The University works in partnership with colleges in Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire to provide extended opportunities for study, either at locations near to your home or to provide specialist courses not widely available on a national basis. Many of the courses are part-time and are ideal to help you develop the knowledge and skills to advance your career while in work, others are full-time courses lasting from one to three years depending upon the subject. Courses range from short professional courses, through HNC/HNDs, Foundation degrees, to full Honours degrees.

If you study a course at a partner college you will be a Bournemouth University student. In most cases, all of the teaching will be at the partner college and they will provide the support necessary for you to complete the course - including access to library services, information technology, and a full range of student support, such as careers advice and support for additional learning needs.

Our South West partner colleges offer a wide range of study environments and themselves range from large general colleges of Further Education, with a broad mix of students and courses, to small specialist institutions with dedicated facilities and staff. Your experience of a partner college will be different from that of being based on a Bournemouth University campus but will be convenient to your home and work and help you to settle into Higher Education learning in familiar surroundings. Your course will be of the same quality and standard as all University courses and your final award will be conferred by the University.

Partner colleges offer specialized facilities and resources specifically designed to meet the needs of your study course. All have library, computing, social, sports and recreational facilities and the back-up support of welfare service including accommodation, childcare, careers, finance and students union.
