Cranborne House

We enjoy the services of a full time (office hours) Halls Supervisor.

His role is to:

  • Ensure the smooth running of the building in general
  • Organise the post delivery
  • Handle day to day enquiries
  • Liaise with on site staff and contractors (including cleaners, security and maintenance staff)
  • Issue keys and supervise access to the building
  • Communicate with the management where necessary
  • "Look after" the residents and lend a sympathetic ear where required
  • Enforce the regulations laid down by the University for the running of the building.

The Halls Supervisor has delegated authority from the Residential Services Manager and as such has access to all parts of the building (as do certain other authorised members of staff) provided that courtesy is shown towards your privacy.

The Halls Supervisor is off duty out of office hours .

The Resident Hall Supervisor can be found at Reception during the day or in Flat 3 in the South Wing (adjacent to the Laundry) of the building when off duty.

He may also supervise any fire alarm evacuations.

Hurn House

We also have a Hall Supervisor at Hurn House, whose role is similar to that above for Cranborne House.

There is an office on the first floor car park (behind the laundry) where you may find him during office hours or leave a message if unattended.

If the matter is very urgent please contact Studland House Reception.

Student Village

There is no Halls Supervisor in the village, however, there is a dedicated member of the Estates maintenance staff who will be seen most days working in the Village.

You are welcome to approach him if you have a maintenance problem. Otherwise contact the Accommodation Service in Talbot House or visit Estates at Poole House.
