Cranborne House

Cleaning staff are contractors employed by the University to help maintain a minimum standard in the communal areas of the building ie stairs, lifts and corridors outside of flats.

Residents shall:

  • Ensure floors, kitchen work tops and sinks are clear and cleaned regularly
  • Clean the common areas of the flat, lounge, kitchen, hallway etc.
  • Remove bags of rubbish daily to the designated bins in the bin area at the rear of the building. Residents will be charged for any bags found abandoned in the building or grounds
  • Keep their own room and shower clean
  • The flat will be visited periodically to ensure standards are being maintained
  • Your room and shower may be inspected once per term
  • Where standards fall below those required, cleaners may be brought in to the flat and residents invoiced for the costs.

Student Village, Abbotsbury House and Winterbourne House.

Students will be responsible for keeping the whole of the house in a clean and tidy condition and the houses may be visited on a periodic basis.

Where standards fall below those required, cleaners may be brought in and residents invoiced for the costs.

Hurn House

The above guidelines apply to Hurn House as well, although cleaning staff will also clean the communal shower rooms, toilets and lounges.

Lounge floors must be clear before the cleaners can vacuum.
