UUK Code of Practise
Bournemouth University is signed up the national UUK Code of Practice.
The code, which many other universities have also signed up to, covers university managed student accommodation.
Partner providers (such as UNITE and Signpost Homes) may be subscribed to another similar Code (the ANUK Code of Practice). Privately owned houses and flats (such as Unilet) are not included, but are covered by Housing law requirements instead.
By agreeing to the Code, the University undertakes to use its best endeavours to meet high standards of good practice, service and health and safety, as well as providing accommodation which is "fit for purpose".
Residents should be comforted to know that their needs are valued by the University, and there is a guideline that they can use if there are ever any problems.
