Career Mentoring
< Back to Support BU
Could you be a career mentor? Could you offer help to a student trying to find that all-important first step onto the career ladder?
We are looking for alumni who can offer informal mentoring by phone or email to current students in need of information on questions such as:
- What's it like working at the BBC?
- What happens at JP Morgan interviews?
- What sort of people work in HR?
- What does an accountant actually do all day?
- How did you find a job in archaeology?
- Would a master's degree help me find a job in hospitality?
How it works
- Once you've registered your interest, we'll add you to a list of potential career mentors.
- Current BU students can search this list by job title, industry, employer or degree course.
- If a student wishes to contact you, our Graduate Employment Service will then put them in touch with you directly.
- You are then free to offer as much or as little information as you choose. You can terminate the mentoring at any stage.
