Student profiles

Our School is made up of over 1200 undergraduate and postgraduate students. Our aim is to deliver employable students with professional and transferable science skills.

Emma Bonthorne I chose Bournemouth University (BU) because of its strong reputation in forensic sciences, and because the MSc course allowed me to specialise in both forensic anthropology and archaeology.

Michelle FeiderI chose MSc Osteoarchaeology as I wanted to study something completely different to my undergraduate degree. Staff responded helpfully to my enquiries and, since the study of human and animal remains in archaeology draws upon a wide range of subject backgrounds, I felt encouraged and confident in applying.

Georgina SmithI came to study a BSc (Hons) in Ecology and Wildlife Conservation at BU after completing a National Diploma in Public Services (yes, quite the change of direction!).

James SugrueI decided to study archaeology at Bournemouth as I have always been fascinated about how things happened in the past.

Christina SwiftThe BSc Archaeology degree at BU is, in my opinion, the best and most balanced course that I have ever been a part of.

Natalia TejedorNatalia studied Biodiversity Conservation at Masters Level at BU. She has now started a PhD Studentship with the School.

Benjamin TolcherI came to BU having just finished a gap year after doing some travelling. I chose to do a degree that incorporated environmental and coastal management because I found this particular subject very interesting.

Lawrence WolffI chose Bournemouth because I was really keen on the sound of the BSc Applied Geography course. I knew I wanted to study Geography having done well at GCSE and A Levels. It was the 'Applied' aspect which really appealed to me.
