Heritage counts! Looking after those aspects of the historic environment that survive in the modern world is an important duty that cannot be taken lightly. There are more than 800 World Heritage Sites scattered across the planet, 23 of them in the UK. A MORI poll conducted in England in 2000 revealed that 85% of the population believes that heritage plays a valuable role in the life of the country, while 88% thought heritage was important for creating jobs and boosting the economy. In the United States a survey revealed that 88% of respondents felt that archaeological remains had spiritual value.
Identifying, recording, assessing, investigating, monitoring, conserving, protecting, preserving, and interpreting the tangible and intangible elements of the historic environment are the main strands of our programmes and research projects in the field of Cultural Resource Management.
