Technology, Production and Ancient Materials
The focus of work by staff in this research area is on ancient technology. This includes the use, trade, and exchange of ancient artefacts and materials; the physical and socially constructed properties of artefacts made of ceramic, metal, glass, and other inorganic substances; and the sourcing of materials and objects. Throughout, attention is directed towards the archaeological interpretation of results from scientific analysis and the communication of these results to others.
