Bournemouth University joins the PHORUS Project

PHORUS Logo Bournemouth University joins the Public Health Open Resources for the University Sector (PHORUS) Project.

The impact of friendship clubs on social isolation in older people a three year evaluative study being undertaken with Brendoncare Clubs Division in Dorset and Hampshire. The project began in October 2008 and is being undertaken by Dr Ann Hemingway and Eleanor Bond.

The PHORUS project (Public Health Open Resources for the University Sector) is a new collaborative project involving Bournemouth University, The Royal Society for Public Health and coordinated by the Health Sciences and Practice Subject Centre of the Higher Education Academy. The one year project is designed to research and test practical considerations and benefits of providing public health open educational resources in Higher Education. Dr Heather Hartwell, Dr Ann Hemingway and Catherine Angell are undertaking the research element of the project to April 2010.
