The Centre has developed a research study to explore the impact of the current economic crisis on the older population, focusing on financial capability, general quality of life and well being. This investigates older people’s experiences of the current economic downturn and the impact on their quality of life and wellbeing. It identifies services they currently access for financial advice and support, and their preferences in the way this should be delivered. A second phase of the study explores whether, and how, these needs are being addressed by current providers. This study will lead to recommendations whereby financial service may best address the needs of the ageing UK population during this and future economic down turns.

This programme has also received funding from the Economics and Research Council to host a national seminar series aimed at evolving theory in interprofessional education and practice. The seminar is a collaboration between Bournemouth University, the Centre for Advancement of Interprofessional Education (CAIPE), University of Southampton, Huddersfield University, Newcastle University and University of West of England. Outputs from this series can be found accessed here.

The Centre is working on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership in conjunction with Five Rivers Child Care and the Centre for Practice Development. The focus will be on developing a tool to assess the needs of children and young people with complex needs.
