Practice Development Unit : Costs/Value

The total cost of Practice Development Unit Accreditation is £ 7,200.

What you get for your money:

1. When you register to accredit as a PDU you will get a copy of the standards and an open learning pack to support and guide the team to understand the criteria and the evidence needed to meet the standards.

2. 3 Day PDU Induction Programme for up to 5 team members.

3. Access to a designated PDU consultant to support the team through its PDU journey, not exceeding 30 hours.

4. A pre accreditation visit to check the PDU's readiness for full accreditation.

5. An accreditation visit by an inter professional panel of clinically appropriate assessors.

6. A final report giving feedback on the accreditation visit and the findings.

7. A further accreditation visit (if referred at the first visit).

8. The accreditation certificate and award issued by The School of Health & Social Care, Bournemouth University.

9. Access to The School of Health & Social Care PDU support network group.

When you are accredited the status lasts for three years, during which you will be required to submit an annual report detailing how you continue to meet the criteria and plan to further develop your services.

After three years you will need to be re-accredited as a PDU. The total cost for re-accreditation is £ 3,000.You will be given access to a PDU consultant, on going membership of the PDU support network and updates of PDU support information, a full accreditation visit and feedback report and the HSC re-accreditation award.
