The aims of the group are:
To promote the health and well-being of women, babies and their families by undertaking work to underpin clinical practice and to inform policy making;
To ensure relevance and impact by maximising service user/voluntary sector involvement and the dissemination of results to health and social care professionals, service users and the voluntary sector;
To undertake work across a wide methodological range as led by the research;
To provide a forum to discuss issues related to the above.

Work Themes Broadly speaking, the following four core themes are evident within the work currently underway by the group, although the members' interests are significantly wider than this. Experiences of health | Postnatal care and breastfeeding | Keeping childbirth normal | Education of health care professionals and service users WOMB is a multi-disciplinary group with the involvement of 41 people who have attended meetings and chosen to join the e-mail distribution list. Since July 2003 seven meetings have been held. The peer-reviewed publications and conference papers of the members of the group are detailed in the HSC Academic Activities report |
