Dame Yvonne Moores is a former Chief Nursing Officer for England and Director of the NHS playing a key role as advisor to the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Health on a range of issues related to policy and improving the quality of clinical services.
Amongst her many involvements, Dame Yvonne acts as a consultant to the United Nations and the World Health Organisation.

Jan Bergman was appointed as Chief Executive of Dorset County Hospital Foundation Trust in March 2006. He was previously Chief Executive of Queen Victoria Hospital Foundation Trust for six and a half years, successfully leading the hospital to be a first wave Foundation Trust with first class reputation, continually achieving excellent in use of resources and quality.
He has significant experience in healthcare. Before he joined Queen Victoria Hospital, Jan was a Director of Southmead District General Hospital, Bristol and is former director of NHS International.
Jan has served on a number of Boards, both in the public and private sectors. These include Blonde McIndoe Research Foundation, overseas development Board, West Kent University and a commercial building development company. He has served on several Department of Health working taskforce groups and is currently a visiting Lecturer at Imperial College, London.

I joined BU in August 2007 as Head of Research Unit having spent seven years as Head of Programmes in Cancer Research UK, where I managed the Science Funding Committee, advised senior acadmics on submission of programme grants and co-managed the setting up of a new research centre at Oxford University jointly funded by the MRC and CR-UK.
I originally trained as a diagnostic veterinary and medical microbiologist, then moved into virological research before taking up positions within Ministry of Agriculture and Department of Health that involved the management of research portfolios and the running of national advisory panels.

Dr David Kerr MD FRCPE is Consultant Physican and Diabetologist at the Bournemouth Diabetes and Endocrine Centre
. He is also Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Southampton and Visiting fellow at Bournemouth University. As part of this latter position he is the lead member for clinical research at the newly established Post Graduate Medical Research and Education Centre.
As well as providing clinical service in Internal medicine and Diabetes, Dr Kerr runs one of the largest insulin and glucose sensor programmes in the UK. His research interests include the use of technologies in diabetes care, the problem of hypoglycaemia and the prevention of obesity in children and young adults. As a Scotsman seeking to educate his English neighbours on the important things in life, Dr Kerr also has a long-term research interest in the physiology of pleasurable pastimes including the use of alcohol and caffeine.

I became a Consultant in 1988 and currently lead in cardiology at the Dorset Heart Centre, Royal Bournemouth Hospital. For specialist cardiology the Centre covers most of the population of Dorset as well as adjacent parts of Hampshire and Wiltshire. My interests are in innovation, improving training in medical and allied professions as well as further development of local services.

Before being appointed as the new Chairman of the Bournemouth and Poole Teaching Primary Care Trust, Angela was Vice Chair of Bournemouth Teaching Primary Care Trust and Joint Head of School at the Institute of Health and Community Studies, Bournemouth University. She has a professional background as a Healthcare Manager. Formerly Chief Executive of an NHS Trust in Yorkshire and General Manager of Poole Bay Primary Care Group, she has also held academic posts at the Health Services Management Unit, at the University of Manchester. Angela was a founder member of the Board of the former Bournemouth Teaching Primary Care Trust which she joined as a Non-Executive Director when it was established in October 2000.

I began my professional career as a nurse in Montreal, Canada in 1972. I settled in London in 1977 and worked clinically as a nurse and then a midwife until moving into education in the late 1980s. I taught both pre and post registration midwifery at North London College of Health Studies and then led a midwifery team as principal lecturer at Thames Valley University (TVU). In April 1995, I became Dean of Nursing and Midwifery at TVU, providing leadership in a very large faculty. I completed my doctoral research in 2003 (thesis: Learning to be a Midwife: The Need to Believe). In September 2006, I moved to Bournemouth University taking up the role of Dean of the School of Health and Social Care in order to continue to develop my expertise as academic leader, manager, practitioner and researcher.
I have participated in a large number of national organisations in midwifery and in higher education. I currently represent the university on the Council of Deans of Health. I have been involved in quality reviews nationally and internationally in the past, publish regularly and continue to care about and be involved in midwifery issues and developments.

Michael Turvey started his career in the private sector, with Europe’s largest private steel company, GKN. He then joined Cardiff City Council, where he held a variety of posts and had the benefit of working with almost every area of a large council’s work over a 25 year career.
He joined Christchurch in 1995 and has been instrumental in driving a clear performance management strategy. This has resulted in the Council being in the top 10% of improving councils for two consecutive years, and achieving some of the highest customer satisfaction rates in the country.
Mr Turvey lists amongst his qualifications a BA in Public Administration, is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, as well as a post Graduate Diploma in Public Sector Management and a MBA, with distinction, from the University of Birmingham.
