The Research Steering Committee provides a focus for high quality, medically led research with an emphasis on quantitative techniques which complement existing Centres in the School of Health and Social Care and across the University. It supplies strong links between local NHS Trusts and the University for the ultimate benefit of local people.
The Committee has representatives from local NHS Trusts (Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch NHS Foundation Trust, Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Dorset Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, NHS Dorset and NHS Bournemouth and Poole), Bournemouth University (Dean and Head of Research of the School of Health and Social Care, Head of Research Unit, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Research), the Dorset Research Governance Consortium, Dorset Research and Support Unit and Dorset Cancer Network.
The Committee was established in November 2006 and meets three times a year. A report is produced following each meeting, which is widely circulated and posted on this website.
