Training Junior Doctors

To succeed, the courses offered through the Centre of Postgraduate Medical Research and Education (CoPMRE) will need to be of the highest quality, be relevant to the doctors’ training grade and career pathways, be flexible in their delivery and result in appropriate higher degrees.

The Centre is actively committed to pursuing this ambition, with junior doctors from Poole, Bournemouth and Dorchester already finding our services to be invaluable. We provide an environment where they can add to their skills, with the time to reflect on practice, supported by lecturers and doctors.

We are dedicated to playing a lead role in helping junior doctors in the local area increase their medical skills, and are also proud of the way we enable them to develop more generic skills, such as communication – skills which previously were not passed on in a formal academic environment but were left to evolve through experience alone.

By giving a structure to the delivery of these generic skills, the Centre is playing its part in ensuring that junior doctors in the local area develop their abilities to be the very best that they can be.

The result is an environment that junior doctors find ideal – they have access to expertise from across the region but still work in a learning environment where they are able to be known as individuals.
