Masterclass in gathering peoples’ ideas and opinions: Introduction to focus groups
6 & 7 February 2012

The masterclass will introduce the method of focus group interviews. Over two days you will cover a research ‘journey’, starting with the epistemological basis of qualitative research, the aims and objectives of focus groups and the practicalities of undertaking focus groups, analysing and writing up focus group data.

This will be an introductory workshop on Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). It will cover the theoretical underpinnings of IPA and then go through the stages of conductiong an IPA study: design, data collection, analysis, writing up.
