Photography, music, dance, poetry, video installations, dramatic monologues and theatrical performances have recently been added to the qualitative researcher's toolbox and 'performative' in the widest sense of the word has become a 'working title' for the dissemination efforts of researchers wanting to enhance or even move beyond the status quo.
Benefits of Attending the Masterclass
Feedback from participants in previous workshops in Performative Social Science at Bournemouth:
I am certainly not aware of anywhere else in the country that is offering this type of event. It is a very different way of working, thinking, being.
The interactive style of delivery and group working made it a rich experience.
Open style, not didactic.
A confirmation that being creative and having an art orientated way of working can be brought back into academia.
I really enjoyed taking the transcript and transforming it into a visual piece. It was the first time I had ever taken part in such an activity and it opened my eyes to new methods of research dissemination.
There is someone [at Bournemouth] who honours this work therefore it gives me permission to do the same, and not to hide it
