The Centre for Qualitative Research presents a two day masterclass with Amedeo Giorgi of the
Saybrook Graduate and Research Centre. This workshop will present the theory
and practice of the phenomenological
psychological method. Some basic
concepts of phenomenology will be
introduced and the method to be
employed will be described and there
will also be opportunity for hands-on
work.
September 2008 - In search of Mindfulness (PDF 83 kb) The Centre for Qualitative Research presents a two day masterclass on mindfulness with keynote speakers Reverend Dr. Je Kan Adler-Collins from the Fukuoka Prefectual University in Japan. Sponsored by the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.
May 2008 - Max van Manen, Doing" Phenomenology and the Demands of Writing
The Haunting of Good Writing by Bad Writing Professor Max van Manen will focus on how doing qualitative research
can be pursued through the process of inquiry, reflection and writing and
will visit the CQR on 15th & 16th May 2008.
March and April 2008 - Kimberly Dark, Writing
Performative Ethnography American Kimberly Dark continues to work tirelessly on her abilities
as a parent, poet, professor and raconteur. Kimberly's writing and performances
have delighted and incited audiences at theatres and universities across North
America and Europe for the past ten years. Her frequent themes are gender,
sexuality, poverty, privilege, parenting and education. Her work blends humour,
poetry, story-telling, education and social research in order to stimulate
both social analysis and action. Her Masterclass at Bournemouth will include
both performance by Kimberly and hands-on experience for participants. This
Masterclass will take place on 31st March & 1st April 2008.
