Learn to Care Annual National Conference - Member of Conference Planning Committee (2003 to date):
This is the largest Annual Conference in the UK for those involved with staff development in Social Work/Care. I have been on the planning group for the past 4 years and co-ordinating the participation of 2 Secretaries of State from the Government, the Chief Executive of the Commission for Social Care Inspection and other leading figures, from the field of Social Work. I have also written a number of text books for Learn to Care which they issue to all local authorities in England and Wales as national guidelines providing advice to social work employers regarding partnerships with educational providers. In addition I lead their research to look at expenditure levels and patterns for social care / work training and education within local authorities. These national surveys are be presented to the Department of Health.
