Support for students with disabilities or additional learning needs is provided by the Additional Learning Needs Service (ALNS).

An "Additional Learning Need" may include:

  • Specific learning difficulties/differences such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia
  • Mobility impairments, for example wheelchair use
  • Sensory impairments such as deafness/hearing impairment, blindess/visual impairments
  • Mental health issues such as depression, stress, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder
  • Medial conditions like diabetes, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, ME or chronic fatigue syndrome, asthma
  • Developmental disorders, e.g. Asperger's Syndrome, Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder
