Benchmarking
Bournemouth University has been successful in its bid to be in Phase 1 of the HEA e-learning benchmarking exercise. “The exercise has three aims:
The exercise will provide quantifiable and qualitative information on how far institutions are 'embedding' different aspects of e-learning into institutional policy and practice.” (HEA, http://www.heacademy.ac.uk/ourwork/learning/elt/benchmarking) BU selected the benchmarking methodology of the Association of Commonwealth Universities Observatory on Borderless Higher Education (ACU/OBHE). This requires the completion of an Institutional Review Document (IRD) using questions prepared by the ACU/OBHE team. The IRD is intended to provide the basis for rigorous institutional self-review and is based on how HEIs operate at present. All information provided to the OBHE consultants by participating HEIs is on a confidential basis. The IRD (PDF 567kb) is a confidential document available within BU. The final report for the OBHE/ACU Benchmarking Programme Phase One (PDF 814kb) is now available within BU. The e-learning strategy steering group is the e-learning benchmarking strategy group. The e-learning project group consists of Dr Barbara Newland, Janice Hurne, Jill Beard and Linda Byles. |
