Bournemouth University Learning and Teaching Development Day

Releasing the Potential: developing self-motivated, independent lifelong learners

We are pleased to announce that the Bournemouth University Learning and Teaching Development day will take place on 16 May 2006.

Our keynote speaker will be Professor John Lidgey (Head of e-Learning and Assistant Dean, School of Technology, Oxford Brookes). John has been closely involved in the Releasing Potential agenda at Oxford Brookes and his experience and contribution will be very helpful to us.

The title of our conference is "Releasing Potential: developing self-motivated, independent lifelong learners" and there are three key themes:

  • Reviewing curriculum structures and learning strategies to facilitate releasing potential.
  • Enhancements to student support to develop self-motivated independent life long learners.
  • Using e-Learning and Resource-based Learning to facilitate flexible student-managed learning.

The Conference Programme Committee is comprised of representatives from across the University including Penny Dale, Gemma Fowler, Janet Hanson, Dawn Hitchin, Janice Hurne, Christine Keenan, Nicola Peacock.
