BU has a legal responsibility to eliminate unlawful discrimination, eliminate harassment and promote equality of opportunity for people, in relation to race, disability and gender.

The law requires that all public authorities have a scheme of work for race, disability and gender equality, which sets out how we will achieve this.

Each scheme highlights how we've consulted stakeholders, gathered information and considered equality objectives.

Each scheme also includes a three year action plan which outlines steps and timescales to achieve our objectives.
