What happens to my application?
Direct applications will be distributed to relevant Course Administrators as each application will be considered on its own merit.
The length of time the admissions process takes depend on the course that you have applied for. For some courses an offer will be made based solely on the application form, other require an interview and some have other types of admissions activities such as presenting a portfolio of work or taking short tests.
A decision will be made on your application and you will receive one of the following:
- Unconditional offer - You have met all the entry requirements for the course and have been offered a place.
- Conditional offer - This could be based on a number of factors. Very often the offer is based on achievement in your current studies, eg. qualification of Honours degree or equivalent.
- Application rejected - Your application has been unsuccessful. It will be useful if you contact the Course Administrator to find out the reasons for this decision. It may that the course you have applied for is unsuitable for you given your current experience/qualifications but there may be other options to consider (such as an Access course or considering a course of a different level/subject). There is usually a variety of ways that a qualification can be gained, you may just need to consider a different approach.
Once an offer has been made, we would appreciate receiving your acceptance or refusal as soon as possible. If you wish to withdraw your application, please notify your Course Administrator immediately as you may delay or deny other prospective students the opportunity of achieving a place at University.
