The Chinese Students Association at Bournemouth University

The Chinese Student's Association at Bournemouth University (BU) hosted a Chinese New Year party on Friday 5 February 2011, to celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit.

Ms Zhu Li from the Education Section of the Chinese Embassy in London made a short speech at the opening, bringing a New Year's message from the Minister of Education to all Chinese students and scholars in the UK.

The evening event, held at the Student Union bar "The Loft" on Talbot Campus, offered a great night of entertainment for both Chinese students and members of BU staff.


Latest News: Dream Lab challenge project winners come to BU!

Students from the Beijing Institute of Fashion who won the first ever Dream Lab challenge supported by BU and the British Council have just completed their prize-winning trip to the UK.

The '3-2-1' team outperformed four other teams from Chinese universities during a live final at 'The Orange' in Beijing which received widespread media attention throughout China. Their prize included a package of scholarships worth £40,000 offered by BU and project partner Kingston University, and also a visit the UK including a trip to Bournemouth and an interactive tour of our high-tech facilities.

Qi Qi from the British Council, China said: "The students were very excited to meet some of the leading academics at Bournemouth and deeply appreciated the one-day visit that was tailored to their specific interests by BU. They loved the TV and radio interviews, the motion capture experience, the boat trip, the weather, the Fish & Chips, and even the ASDA at Bournemouth so much."
