How to Apply
Step 1
- Check if there is a bilateral agreement in place between your home university and BU.
- If there is a bilateral agreement in place, you need to discuss your study exchange with your home university.
- You must be nominated by your home university for a study exchange at BU.

Step 2
- Check whether you meet BU’s English language requirements (PDF - 132KB) or whether you will have to take an English language test. If you are unsure, contact your Erasmus/International Coordinator at your home university to discuss this with them.

Step 3
- Check with the International Experience & Exchanges Coordinator at BU which courses and units you can study at BU. In some cases we can send you a list of units you can study during your exchange.
- Check with your home university if you will receive enough ECTS credits during your exchange at BU and how they count towards your degree at home.
- Please note that you cannot ‘mix and match’ units from different courses at BU.

Step 4
- Download the application form and learning agreement. Please save these documents to your own computer before starting to complete them. You must fill them out electronically and then print them out.
- Get the learning agreement signed by hand.
- Save these forms to your hard drive (disk) in case you need to refer to them again.
- You must include an official Transcript of Records (this is a statement of all marks you have obtained so far at your home university) and proof of English language qualification with your application form and learning agreement.
- Use our checklist to make sure your application pack is complete.

Step 5
- Send this application pack to the International Experience & Exchanges Coordinator at BU.
- Please note that an incomplete pack may result in the delay of your application.

Deadlines
- End of April - for September/October start for students who would like to start their study exchange in the first term (autumn term) and stay for one term only or up to an academic year (three terms in total)
- End of October – for January start. This is only for students who want to study in the second term (spring term).
