Erasmus study exchange
More information
Length of study exchanges at BU
Most exchange agreements cover one or two terms, normally the autumn and spring term. It is not possible to do your exchange only in the summer term as this is when the academic year is finishing and the focus is on coursework, revision and end of year exams.
BU has 3 terms in an academic year.
Information on semesters for Business Studies students only
The BA (Hons) Business Studies (BABS) course is semesterised and has two semesters in an academic year. Please email studyabroad@bournemouth.ac.uk to check on the semester dates for the academic year you would like to study at BU.
European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits
In most courses at BU exams are taken at the end of the academic year, which means that you would have to study for 3 terms at BU – provided this is possible under the bilateral agreement. You will then receive ECTS credits. There are only very few courses where exams take place at the end of each term. If you successfully pass the exams, you will be awarded ECTS credits.
Accommodation
There is no guaranteed accommodation for exchange students, however, our Accommodation Service will try to help as much as possible with advice on renting accommodation in Bournemouth or details of any rooms which may be available through the University. Once your exchange has been confirmed you can email the Accommodation Service. Please advise them that you are an exchange student.
