BUPEP
BUPEP Spring Degree Admission
For Masters courses beginning in January 2013
BUPEP Spring Degree Admission is divided into two stages of between 10 to 12 weeks. Your level of English on application will determine your entry point onto the programme.
The programme is designed so that, as long as your attendance is good and you complete course assessments successfully, you should reach the standard of English necessary for entry onto your chosen academic programme by the end of BUPEP.
Programme structure
Stage 1: 2 July – 14 December 2012
Programme delivery: Local Language School, Bournemouth
Accommodation: Host family
Tuition fee: £4,125 for Stage 1 and 2 (5% discount applies for full payment on or before enrolment)
This stage of BUPEP:
- systematically reviews those areas of grammar which are important for academic expression
- offers intensive practice in listening, speaking, reading and writing
- identifies students' specific weaknesses and introduces strategies for improvement.
Successful completion of Stage 1 allows progression onto Stage 2.
Stage 2: 24 September – 14 December 2012
Programme delivery: Local Language School, Bournemouth
Accommodation: Host family
Tuition fee: £2,250 for Stage 2 (5% discount applies for full payment on or before enrolment)
This stage of BUPEP:
- ensures that you can communicate accurately and effectively in English
- further consolidates students’ ability to use English in an academic context
- provides intensive practice in academic writing
- introduces you to essential study skills such as reading, listening and note-taking
- familiarises you with the University’s approach to learning, teaching and assessment
Successful completion of Stage 2 allows progression onto your chosen Masters course at BU.
