Tuition fees

Information on this page applies to the 2012/13 Academic Year (September 2012 and January 2013 entry).

Fees vary from course to course, and reflect the nature of the resources required to deliver them. For details on the specific tuition fee for your chosen course of study please refer to the individual profiles on Course Search. You can also check directly with our askBU Enquiry Service.


Discounts

Alumni discount

Students with a first degree (Bachelors degree) from BU (excludes Foundation degrees) can claim a loyalty discount on our postgraduate course fees (includes PhD study).

If you are a previous BU graduate looking to join us in September 2012 or January 2013, you will be entitled to a 20% discount.

Simply include your existing BU degree details in your postgraduate study application and the discount will be applied as soon as your entitlement has been confirmed.

There is no limit on how long ago you studied your first degree at BU.

This discount applies to the first year and subsequent years of study of any course. If your course is 15 months in duration, you will receive one discount award (at 20%) on the fees. The discount does not apply if you repeat a unit or the full course.

Early payment discount

If you pay your tuition fee before or within seven days of enrolment, you will also be able to claim a 5% early payment discount. Please note that if you are being sponsored in part or whole, for example by your employer, you will not be eligible for the 5% discount. Terms & conditions apply to this discount.

Deposits

To secure your place on a taught postgraduate course you will need to pay a non-refundable deposit*.

* This deposit will be non-refundable except for the following circumstances:

The deposit must be paid by the date stated in the offer letter with the balance of the fee due to be paid on registration/enrolment.

Paying by instalment

Whether you're looking to study a full-time or part-time course with us, it is possible to pay in three instalments online with a debit/credit card. The first payment (a third of the course fee) will be taken when you register and pay online and the second instalment (a further third) will be three months after the first payment. The final payment (the remaining third) will be taken six months after the first payment.

Tuition fees for UK and EU students

As a general guide, for the 2012/13 academic year, students from the UK and within the EU can expect to pay within the following fee ranges:

Taught Masters: £4,500 - £11,000

MBA: £15,000

Postgraduate Research Degrees: £4,200 - £4,500 per academic year.

Tuition fees for Channel Island students (Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man)

Tuition fees for International students

As a general guide, for the 2012/13 academic year, international students can expect to pay within the following fee ranges:

Taught Masters: £10,000 - £13,500

MBA: £15,000

Postgraduate Research Degrees: £11,500 - £13,500 per academic year
