Bournemouth Skillset Screen Academy Bursaries

The Scott Trust Ltd, owner of Guardian Media Group plc, offers ten bursaries each year for aspiring journalists to study for a postgraduate qualification in newspaper, web or broadcast journalism across top media Universities.
Students applying for MA Multimedia Journalism at BU are given the opportunity to apply for one of the two broadcast bursaries on offer.

How much is the scholarship worth?
The bursary pays for tuition fees and provides a subsistence allowance of £5,000. The course involves several weeks' work experience within Guardian Media Group, which will be arranged for awardees by the Scott Trust scheme coordinator.
How many scholarships will be awarded?
Two broadcast scholarships are awarded between 11 courses at selected Universities.
What are the criteria for this scholarship?
- A graduate and a permanent resident in the United Kingdom
- You will have had some basic paid or unpaid work experience in journalism, or similar experience, and need the financial support to progress in your career. You will also have built up a portfolio of your work or evidence of your journalism/writing, and you will be able to show commitment to a career in media.

How do I apply?
You download the application from the Guardian Media Group website; all applications must also include a news bulletin, read by yourself, up to 90 minutes in duration.
The deadline for applications is Monday March 1 2010 for entry in September 2010.
