BU Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship
September 2009 entry - closed for 2009 entrants
This new BU scholarship is launched to commemorate a hundred years of higher education in Bournemouth.
This scholarship is offered to students who have applied to study a taught postgraduate (Masters) degree at BU and who are nationals of one of the following countries: Ghana, India, Nigeria, Thailand or Vietnam.

You must be a national of one of the following countries: Ghana, India, Nigeria, Thailand or Vietnam.
How many scholarships are awarded?
Ten scholarships (two for each country listed above) are awarded to students beginning their course in September 2009.
How much is the scholarship worth?
The scholarship is worth a 50% reduction in tuition fee.
How long does the scholarship last for?
The scholarship is for the duration of the Masters course as described in the prospectus and the Course Search.
Which courses are covered by the scholarship?
All full-time taught postgraduate (Masters) degrees (MA, MSc, LLM, MBA) offered on the BU campus.
Am I eligible to apply for this scholarship?
You must be a national of one of the countries listed above and for fees purposes you must be classified as having the status of an international (non-EU) student.
You may also be eligible for a number of other postgraduate scholarships offered at BU.
If you are awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship you will not be eligible to be awarded any other BU Scholarships.
How do I apply?
You need to apply for a BU Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship after you have received an offer for your course.
You will be sent a scholarship application form with your offer letter which you will need to complete and return with your acceptance form and deposit to the address on the form.
You must hold a conditional or unconditional offer to apply for this scholarship.
What factors will be considered in deciding if I am awarded this scholarship?
You must be able to demonstrate an exceptional academic and personal profile in your personal statement as well as any outstanding achievements in your professional career or personal life.
You will also need to highlight how you will use the qualification you obtain at BU when you return to your home country.
Financial need cannot be taken into consideration.
When is the deadline for applying for this scholarship?
Application forms for this scholarship for courses beginning in September 2009 must be received at BU by 31 July 2009.
When will I hear if I have been successful?
You will be notified by 15 August 2009 if you have been successful in being awarded this scholarship.
When do I receive the scholarship?
You will need to meet all the conditions of your offer to receive this scholarship.
You will receive the scholarship in the form of a tuition fee reduction when you enrol on one of the eligible courses.
