What makes a good application
There are lots of things to consider when completing your UCAS application form. Here are some useful tips to help you with yours.
Register for UCAS Apply
When you go to UCAS Apply for the first time, you will need to create a user name and password. This enables you to complete your form in stages, saving the details each time you visit.
When you visit UCAS for the first time, the application process will be explained to you in full. It is a good idea to read every point before completing each section. You can only complete one form online, so make sure you give each part your full attention.
Everyone is entitled to apply to five courses/institutions. There is an administration fee of £11 for a single choice and £22 for up to five choices.
Use the right codes
It is vital you enter the correct code names and numbers of your chosen institutions correctly. The number for Bournemouth University is B50 and the code name is BMTH. If you are applying to a course that runs at one of our Partner Colleges make sure you select the course associated with the correct campus code.
Send additional materials to BU
Whilst you can send extra information to UCAS it is probably best to send it straight to the institutions you are applying to. However, we would only recommend you supply additional information in exceptional circumstances, i.e. personal information or evidence of an achievement that was not included in your personal statement.
