Tuition fees
September 2012 entry for UK/EU/Non-EU students
Tuition fees cover everything you need on your course, including tuition, materials, access to facilities and field trips. They are either paid with a tuition fee loan, or directly to BU either in instalments or alternatively in one sum at the start of each academic year.
UK and EU Students
Our annual tuition fee varies between £6000-£9000 for a full-time BU undergraduate course, delivered at our BU campuses, or at one of our Partner Colleges in 2012. Where relevant, the tuition fee for the placement year of a sandwich degree course is a lower fee.
Specific fees for the course you are interested in can be found on our Course Search system.
Special tuition fee and financial support arrangements apply to Social Work and NHS-funded courses. Visit our individual course pages in our Course Search system for further details.
Island Students (Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man)
Tuition fees the Channel Island students (in Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man) enrolling at an English university in the academic year 2012/13 are not yet confirmed.
Three states negotiate as one body with Universities UK (UUK) to set the tuition fees for Channel Islands students (with UUK acting on behalf of universities in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland).
In 2012/13, the fees range from £6194 to £9867.
International Students (Non-EU)
Fees vary from course to course, and reflect the nature of the resources required to deliver them. For details on the specific tuition fee for your chosen course of study please refer to the Course Search.
Cost
£9,500 - £11,500 per academic year.
Some undergraduate courses last for four years, because they include a work placement year. The placement year carries a lower fee, which for non-EU students beginning their course in 2012 is £1,500.
Price freezing policy
As an undergraduate student starting your course in 2012 you will pay between £9,500 and £11,500 per year for your course of study. To ensure fairness and transparency regarding fees, and to help budget more effectively, we operate a price freezing policy. This means that whatever tuition fee you pay in your first year, you will continue to pay for the duration of your course. This policy applies to all students who are classified as an international student for fees purposes, and who are studying an undergraduate degree at BU.
