Kevin Matthews
BSc (Hons) Archaeology, Graduated 2005
"I love Bournemouth as a place and the chance to spend three years there along with the fact that it is a good school for Archaeology sealed the deal. Archaeology if practiced correctly is a thing that brings together nearly every other discipline available. After all, 'Those who do not learn from the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it.'"
"I never expected to get the chance to see and do so much as well as be taught by some of the best in the business. Full marks to the School of Conservation Sciences. The experience of studying at Bournemouth University totally changed my outlook on things, and I learnt more than I thought I would."
Elizabeth Frodsham
BA (Hons) Accounting and Law, Graduated 2005
"The support from the tutors and other academic staff, including learning support and the careers service, made the course more accessible and less daunting. I was a student on Bournemouth University Summer School in 2002 and was a mentor on subsequent summer schools. I really enjoyed this as I got to meet lots of new people and experience lots of things such as the treasure hunt around Bournemouth."
"I loved how friendly and approachable all the staff and students are at the University and the local people of Bournemouth. I also liked to go down to the beach to relax."
Katherine Hammaren
BA (Hons) Leisure Marketing, Graduated 2005
"The course met my expectations and was more challenging than I ever expected. The best thing about my course was the tutors; they were on a level with the students and were fun, encouraging, understanding and helpful."
"My favourite aspect of non-academic life was the social life and The Old Firestation. At one point I knew everyone in there! Living with friends was also a great aspect of being at BU. My favourite things about Bournemouth and the surrounding area are the beach, the rapidly growing nightlife, the pretty town and lots of good restaurants."
