Ruxanna Josan
BA (Hons) Public Relations
Thoughts about BU:
Public Relations undergraduate student Ruxanna Josan has really enjoyed her first year at Bournemouth University – in fact, she’s delighted that it has already exceeded her expectations.
The quality of education was the major factor that made Ruxanna choose to study at BU: “I chose Bournemouth University because it has the best PR course in the country,” she says.
She quickly found that moving to Bournemouth was a great choice, discovering it to be a sociable, hospitable town, with a few surprises. “Everyone seems really friendly and up for a good laugh,” says Ruxanna. “I doubt there are many towns in which you can start a casual chat with a stranger from across the road!”
University is not, of course, all about socialising, and Ruxanna is also very satisfied with the resources available to aid her in her studies. “I find myself working in the library more than I ever imagined,” she says. “There is an impressive range of subject specific books and journals.” Academic staff are also highly supportive and easy to get hold of when you need them: “So far, I’ve only needed extra help from my course tutor once,” Ruxanna tells us. “She got back to me in minutes.”
Ruxanna is also very happy with her choice of course. “PR is exactly what I wanted to do,” she says. “I’d like to build a career in PR after I graduate particularly in the music industry. I’m hoping to be able to represent the most talented artists, perhaps some of whom are not yet discovered.”
