Academic schools
BU is organised into six very distinctive Academic Schools. Each School has its own focus and some of the country's leading professors and practitioners behind it.
We are confident the qualification you leave with will be relevant and of interest to potential employers due to our close relationships with them. Our courses are designed and regularly reviewed and updated to ensure they meet the changing needs of specific employment sectors. You'll have placement opportunities, work on real-world projects and learn from academics who are involved in enterprise and research projects locally, nationally and internationally.
BU has fantastic facilities for our students. Here are just some of the outstanding specialised resources you can expect to find here:
- High-definition TV studio
- Our renowned Library with over 440 study spaces, 200 computers, over 2,200 books and over 2,500 journals
- Recording studios
- Modern lecture theatres and seminar rooms
- Modern laboratories and workshops
- Rose Cottage - a crime-scene 'house' used to train our forensic students
- 24-hour computing centres
- Wireless network across campus
- Training restaurant suite
- Excellent sports facilities for all levels.
We have two campuses at BU - the Lansdowne Campus and the Talbot Campus. The Lansdowne Campus is in the heart of Bournemouth itself and the Talbot Campus, the larger of the two, is just a couple of miles away.
For more information about getting to the campuses, as well as information about parking, visit our pages on Transport and Maps.
