Postgraduate Events
If you already have a degree and you're interested in studying a Master's qualification, there are many opportunities to visit BU:
- Postgraduate Information Sessions
- Postgraduate Campus Tours
- Talk to an Academic event – for those interested in a Health related course
- Live Web Chat (via facebook)
- Self-Guided Tours
| Date | Event |
|---|---|
| Thursday 23 May | Postgraduate Campus Tour |
| Wednesday 12 June | Postgraduate Information Session |
| Wednesday 12 June | LPC Afternoon |
| Wednesday 12 June | MA Social Work Open Afternoon |
Postgraduate Information Sessions
Our Postgraduate Information Sessions are a great opportunity for you to have an informal chat with an academic from your course of interest.
During the day you will:
- Attend an informal appointment with an academic from your course of interest.
- Enjoy a walking tour around the Campus with one of our current students, and ask any questions you may have.
- Receive information about accommodation, and funding your studies.
- Have the opportunity to view our facilities where relevant.
Postgraduate Campus Tours
These are ideal if you would like to just join us for a tour of Talbot Campus led by a student ambassador.
- The tour should last approximately one hour and a postgraduate student ambassador will meet you on the day
- During this tour you will have the opportunity to view the facilities on campus and ask a current student any questions you may have
Unfortunately, we are unable to book appointments with academics during this visit and please note that these tours are of the Talbot Campus and will give you the opportunity to see the library, sports and other student support facilities. Postgraduate courses within the Business School are delivered at the Executive Business Centre on our Lansdowne Campus, which is not covered as part of the tour.
School of Health & Social Care – talk to an academic
We offer an alternative style of event for professionals interested in certain courses offered by the School of Health & Social Care (HSC).
These ‘Talk to an academic’ events offer a more flexible approach than traditional Open Days, giving you the chance to speak to an academic over the phone at a mutually convenient time.
This will provide you with the opportunity to find out more about your course of interest, as well as ask questions about non-course related information such as entry requirements, funding, making an application and our facilities. Book your appointment now.
Live Web Chat (via facebook)
If it isn't possible for you to visit the University, we are able to offer you the opportunity to participate in a live web chat with one of our current student ambassadors on our facebook wall. These will run monthly and our students will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about postgraduate study at BU or just life here at BU in general. If you have any questions you can either post them on the wall or private message the group.
The date and time of the next web chat will be available on our dedicated postgraduate facebook page. If you can't make the web chat - you can always message us via this page and our askBU Enquiry Service will be in touch.
Self-Guided Tours
We offer an open campus policy during working hours at both our campuses and offer you the chance to take a self-guided tour.
For either Talbot or Lansdowne Campus, you can collect a self-guided tour booklet from one of our reception desks when you arrive, or download them in advance:
- Talbot Campus self-guided tour - booklet (pdf - 884kb)
- Lansdowne Campus self-guided tour - booklet (pdf - 1mb).
For information on travelling to Bournemouth University campuses please see our transport and maps pages.
