Graduation Prizes

Each year, at BU Annual Awards Ceremonies, a number of highly regarded prizes are presented to outstanding individuals. Students are nominated for all the following awards by the beginning of September each year. Panels consider all the nominations and select the recipients in accordance with the prize criteria.

Bournemouth University wishes to record its appreciation and thanks to the Institutions and individuals who support student achievement in the form of prizes awarded to our graduates.

Vice-Chancellor's Prize

This prize is awarded to a final year student whose performance / achievement is deemed by the Vice-Chancellor to have been the most distinguished overall in the academic year.

Rosemary Pope Memorial Prize

The prize, in memory of Professor Rosemary Pope, is for the ′most outstanding contribution made by a graduate who has progressed to a BU honours course from a partner institution′.

Placement Prize

This prize is awarded to a final year student who, whilst on placement, is deemed to have made the most outstanding achievement or contribution to their employing organisation.

Partner College Student Prize

These prizes are awarded to the best final year student on a BU programme at each of our regional partner colleges.

Segrue Prize

This prize is awarded to the final year student who has demonstrated excellence in research for an undergraduate dissertation.

Carol Burns Prize

This prize is awarded to the final year student who has demonstrated particular innovation and effectiveness in the way that they have used IT in their dissertation using generally available University software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acces, SPSS etc. It also expected that the dissertation be of high quality academically.
