The Mentor

The Mentor is a newsletter for qualified nurses who are mentoring, assessing and facilitating the learning of undergraduate student nurses. The aim is to provide a twice yearly link and flow of interesting information and material between the university staff and practice staff (and visa versa).

The editor aims to keep The Mentor informative, interesting and non threatening by including articles which are written by a variety of people including practicing staff, students and academics. Articles are thus sometimes very short and sometimes a little longer however if they are informative and positive then none are rejected.

Many Bournemouth University placement providers use the newsletter to help qualified staff meet the Nursing and Midwifery Council PREP (Post-Registration Education and Practice) requirements. Indeed the newsletter has also been adopted by other universities as an example of good practice.

Contributions to the newsletter can be sent to the editor Sara McDonald or if you wish to speak with her to discuss possible contributions please call 01202 967292.
