Midwives are being challenged to extend the focus of current professional practice and encompass the wider issues related to women's health. The steeply rising caesarean rate, now a major public health issue, has placed a re-evaluation of midwifery and maternity care firmly centre stage. Bournemouth University offers a choice of two exciting post-registration degrees for qualified midwives, both aimed at developing the midwifery profession to its full potential and thereby improve the well-being of mothers and babies.
