Joint hypermobility syndrome is a common but under recognised and poorly managed inherited connective tissue disorder. This study day will include current research, theoretical and practical components associated with the condition. The study day will involve a review of the assessment tools available to recognise the condition and an evaluation and exploration of the current management approaches.
This study day is aimed at enabling health professionals to recognise and manage this condition. In addition there will be an opportunity for physiotherapists, occupational therapists, chiropractors and osteopaths to share their own clinical experiences and methods of managing this condition.
Through scenario based problem solving multidisciplinary group work and reflective clinical practice participants will be invited to develop clinical reasoning and decision making to enhance their management of those with hypermobility and joint hypermobility syndrome.
