“In Conversation”

Photography, music, dance, poetry, video installations, dramatic monologues and theatrical performances have recently been added to the qualitative researcher's toolbox and "performative"—in the widest sense of the word—has become a “working title” for the dissemination efforts of researchers wanting to enhance, or even move beyond, PowerPoint conference presentations or traditional journals. Bournemouth ’s Centre for Qualitative Research has become the worldwide beacon for such efforts. We actively encourage qualitative investigators who are courageously developing arts-based research methods and dissemination techniques to share their work at the conference.

Possibilities include, but are not limited to, performance, film, video, audio, graphic arts, new media (CD ROM, web-based production), poetry and so forth. Presenters are encouraged to limit their 'production' to 15 minutes, allowing ample time for discussion with their audience. 'Poster' presentations are also welcomed in the PSS Gallery setting where delegates can view/interact with productions/representations at their leisure throughout the conference. PC based productions are particularly suited to this venue.

Convenor: Kip Jones Centre for Qualitative Research Bournemouth University. Please contact Dr. Jones if you wish to discuss your presentation.

Abstracts of up to 170 words are invited. To submit an abstract, please use the online submission form.
